You will need

8mm socket on a screw driver,
Wet and Dry paper,
Rubbing compound of some sort, http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_170783_langId_-1_categoryId_165625
Paint of your choice,
Knife,
Sticky pads.

1) First remove the emblem from the front or rear of the car.
The bonnet badges On both mk2's and sei's are fixed with a 8mm nut and 2 locating pins.

2) Using a knife and a MF pop the center out, heat can make this easier.
A not as advised way to do this is to remove the center while the surround is still on the car as its held more firm its much easier but not advised to have a knife near paint, Its upto you.

3) Now you will see how easy this job is. The fiat text is embedded into the emblem. this means no masking of fiddly text is needed as many people may have thought before hand.

Take some dry paper nothing too aggressive as you dont want to place and deep scratches in the plastic.

Remove the blue back ground and you will be left with matt clear background and nice silver text.

4) Wet sanding, you now want to repeat the last stage with your finiest wet paper you have to clear up the plastic the best you can.

4) Compounding, This is the final prep stage really, some may skip it. I used some sonus SFX1, halfords sell a small tube of rubbing compound that will work just as good. Work this into the plastic to clear it up as good as possible.

5) Painting, You now want to paint the back of the badge. In theory you could paint a think layer and have done as the finish will always be as good as your surface in this instance. but i chose to do 3 thinner coats.
you want to be painting from about 12 inch away. A quick 3 second blast in one position should do per coat.

I missed Coat 1 pic..

6) Mounting, Using the sticky pad just mount that bad boy back onto the surround. I used some Industrial 3M ones my dad stocks. First go i used a foam safe glue but it darkened the yellow on the sei badge a little in places.
